The second PASHeF meeting hopes to gather State Ministers, Surgical Technical Officers who have previously attended PASHeF-I, and other key stakeholders hosted by the Honorable Minister for Health of Rwanda Health in collaboration with Smile Train, and UGHE in Kigali, Rwanda in August, or September 2024. The meeting will focus on the operationalization and implementation of the PASHeF 2023 Consensus Statement by the ministries and provide a platform to share country experiences as case studies from Member States covering the spectrum of the pillars of the health system: governance, infrastructure and equipment, essential medicines and supplies, human resources, health financing, health information management, health service delivery including primary health care as a means of sharing best practice in ensuring equitable delivery of surgical care in Africa. PASHeF II will also highlight experiences from partners and NGOs working in the surgical space in Africa and endeavor to develop a mechanism to harness and coordinate their efforts in support of member States in this regard.
The meeting will span two days, with the first day dedicated to convening technocrats who have participated in PASHeF-I, as well as those who were unable to attend. The second day will bring together both technocrats and state ministers of health.
