The East African Community (EAC) is a regional intergovernmental organisation founded in 1967. The work of the EAC is guided by its Treaty (2000) which established the Community.

The EAC is currently made up of seven Partner States: the Democratic Republic of Congo, the Republics of Burundi, Kenya, Rwanda, South Sudan, Uganda, and the United Republic of Tanzania.

The EAC organs are the Summit, the Council of Ministers, the Co-ordinating Committee, the Sectoral Committees, the East African Court of Justice, the East African Legislative Assembly and the Secretariat.

The Secretariat is one of the main organs of the East African Community. The Secretariat is the executive Organ of the Community and is based in Arusha, Tanzania.

The EAC also has nine (9) institutions, three of which became operational in July 2015. All have their own leadership, and their budgets are drawn from the consolidated, annual EAC budget.

Federation of African Engineering Organisation (FAEO) Conference

This FAEO conference on the theme of “Unleashing the Opportunities in the AfCFTA Implementation” will be a 2-day event, proposed to take place in the last week of January 2023 at the renowned, Kigali Convention Center and intends to give African built environment practitioners and stakeholders the opportunity to network, discuss, learn and showcase innovations that will drive forward the AfCFTA's goals to reality

FAEO Conference 2023 aims to bring together about 250 delegates from Rwanda and Africa as a whole, mainly consisting of experts in the engineering field, such as Category One Contractors, Consultants and Manufacturers, among other esteemed stakeholders.
This conference will consist of interactive and informational panels that will help participants understand the AfCFTA in achieving Africa's Agenda 2063, the incentives available from the strategic positioning of Rwanda in creating access to finance and how entrepreneurs and practitioners can leverage them, and also a Golf Tournament to enhance networking synergy prior to the conference kick-off.

In addition, FAEO will inaugurate its sixth president, who was elected on 29th January 2020 and the first one from the Republic of Rwanda, Eng. Papias D. Kazawadi. And so, this conference will also serve as an official investiture ceremony for the President Elect ascending to the Presidency of FAEO.
