After two successful virtual Angaza events (2021 and 2022), the platform will hold a physical event in Kigali, Rwanda this August 2023.

From Thursday, August 3rd - Saturday, August 5th, the Angaza Forum will feature an array of compelling speakers, knowledge presentations and training, and ample networking opportunities. The Angaza Forum culminates with excursions and activities that will deliver a first-hand experience of Rwanda's unique approach to socio-economic development, which has positioned the fast-growing economy as an epicenter for innovation - anchored on the Sustainable Development Goals.

Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI), Africa Roundtable

The Africa Roundtable is a type of conference that consists of about three or four world-class plenary speakers who address a theme that is considered important to Christian education on the continent. As part of each plenary presentation, participants meet in roundtables that are grouped according to the African region in which the participants work and/or the leadership roles in which they serve. The Roundtable discussions are facilitated to collaboratively produce a Roundtable declaration.

Africa Roundtable 4 (ART4) will take place in Kigali, Rwanda, from 21 to 25 August 2023. Africa is facing unprecedented population growth with accompanying challenges. ART4 plenary speakers and Roundtables will focus on the role of the Church in Africa with special attention to the future of church schools and families in Africa.

ART4 will equip participants for their important leadership roles in the years ahead, and the participants will produce a declaration that will significantly contribute to the practice of Christian education on the continent.

Federation of East Africa Africa Secondary School Sports ( FEASSA ) Games 2023

The 20th edition of the Federation of East Africa Secondary Schools Sports Association( FEASSSA) games scheduled from August 17-27.

Schools from host nation Rwanda, Burundi, DR Congo, Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, South Sudan and Zanzibar will gather in the country to compete in various sporting disciplines namely football, swimming, athletics, hockey, netball, rugby, volleyball, basketball, table tennis, badminton and lawn tennis.

The Competition aims at nurturing the “East African Spirit” by enabling secondary school students to visit different geographical sites in East Africa while also learning and being familiar with different cultures through sports contests. The contestants are the players from qualified school teams (2 teams in each discipline) among all member countries at the national level.

FEASSSA Games started in 2001 and are organized annually, rotating in all EAC Member States except in 2020 and 2021 due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Rwanda became a member of FEASSSA in 2005 and since then has participated each year in the competitions and hosted FEASSSA four times as follows:

The 8th edition (2008) in Kigali
The 15th edition (2015) in Huye District
The 18th edition (2018) in Musanze District and
The 20th edition is to be held in Huye, and Gisagara Districts
The member countries of FEASSSA are Rwanda, Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Zanzibar, Burundi, and South Sudan with the Head office in Nairobi, Kenya.

5th Meeting of the ISA Regional Committee for the Africa Region

The International Solar Alliance (ISA) is an action-oriented, member-driven, collaborative platform for increased deployment of solar energy technologies as a means for bringing energy access, ensuring energy security, and driving energy transition in its member countries.
The ISA strives to develop and deploy cost-effective and transformational energy solutions powered by the sun to help member countries develop low-carbon growth trajectories, with particular focus on delivering impact in countries categorized as Least Developed Countries (LDCs) and the Small Island Developing States (SIDS). Being a global platform, ISA's partnerships with multilateral development banks (MDBs), development financial institutions (DFIs), private and public sector organisations, civil society and other international institutions is key to delivering the change its seeks to see in the world going ahead.
The ISA is guided by its ‘Towards 1000' strategy which aims to mobilise USD 1,000 billion of investments in solar energy solutions by 2030, while delivering energy access to 1,000 million people using clean energy solutions and resulting in installation of 1,000 GW of solar energy capacity. This would help mitigate global solar emissions to the tune of 1,000 million tonnes of CO2 every year. For meeting these goals, the ISA takes a programmatic approach. Currently, the ISA has 9 comprehensive programmes, each focusing on a distinct application that could help scale deployment of solar energy solutions. Activities under the programmes focuses on 4 priority areas – Analytics & Advocacy, Capacity Building, Programmatic Support, and readiness and enabling activities, that help create a favourable environment for solar energy investments to take root in the country.
