Moving Together from Commitments to Impact at Scale

The event served to celebrate that commitment as well as to take stock of the task at hand. Sobering facts include that only about one in three Rwandan children complete six-years of primary education on time. And the majority leave primary school without solid foundational skills.

Foundational Learning is the enabler of all future learning.It provides the path to empowering people to make informed decisions, break the cycle of poverty and improve quality of life. Foundational learning promotes gender equality, as well as healthy and peaceful societies.

Acknowledging the urgent need for a stronger commitment to foundational learning across the continent, and the vital importance of cross-sector partnerships for transformative change, we confirmed our support to the Government of Rwanda for the upcoming Foundational Learning Exchange 2024 in Kigali.
