The 2024 Conference is an appropriate forum for Judges and Magistrates to discuss on different legal and institutional elements to enhance the administration of and access to justice in relation to
environment and our Judiciaries’ pivotal role in upholding environmental justice. Through various presentations and panel discussions, delegates will have opportunities to share experiences, bench mark from each other and forge lasting carrier relationships.
The theme for the Conference, Environmental Justice, is timely considering the three intertwined environmental crises – climate change, biodiversity loss and pollution – the world is currently grappling with. It is admitted that one of the ways to address these challenges is to set up an
effective justice system that provides for effective enforcement of environmental law and the peaceful resolution of disputes in a transparent, prompt and equitable manner. This is essential for building a robust environmental rule of law.
