ICANN holds three Public Meetings each calendar year in different regions of the world to enable people from around the globe to participate in-person or online. ICANN Public Meetings are a central part of ICANN’s multi-stakeholder model, and provide a venue for progressing policy work, conducting outreach, exchanging best practices, negotiating business deals, and interacting with members of the ICANN community, Board, and organization.

Usually comprised of more than 100 different sessions, these meetings are an important opportunity for individuals and representatives from ICANN’s various stakeholder groups to introduce and discuss issues related to the ICANN policy development process. Participants may attend either in-person or remotely. Meetings are open to everyone, and registration is free.

ICANN’s mission is to help ensure a stable, secure, and unified global Internet. To reach another person on the Internet, you need to type an address – a name or a number – into your computer or other device. That address must be unique so computers know where to find each other. ICANN helps coordinate and support these unique identifiers across the world. ICANN was formed in 1998 as a nonprofit public benefit corporation with a community of participants from all over the world.
