In light of the rapid expansion and utilization of available measures and indicators, it is time to review existing ECD measurement tools and indicators, streamline our efforts, and agree on how to ensure relevant data is captured and utilized to strengthen policies and services.

To facilitate this exchange of experience and agree on the next steps, the UNICEF Eastern and Southern Africa Regional Office (ESARO) together with the World Health Regional Office for Africa (AFRO), the Africa Early Childhood Development Network (AfECN), the World Bank, and the Early Childhood Development Network (ECDAN) are co-organizing a four-day regional meeting on early childhood development measurements (24-27 October 2023) in Kigali, Rwanda.
